Hearth & Home Technologies announced internally a significant leadership change on their senior leadership team. John Shimek, Senior Vice President – Fireplace Business Unit, has made the decision to retire in December 2024. V.P. Berger, President, Hearth & Home Technologies, has named Clive Rugara, as the successor, effective August 5, 2024.
V.P. Berger stated:
“It’s important to celebrate John’s immeasurable contributions and successes spanning forty-three years of dedicated service with HHT. John has been an integral part of our team, embodying our company values and contributing significantly to the Company’s growth and success throughout his career. He has been a leader, mentor, and friend to many of us, and his passion for the Company and industry will leave a lasting legacy.
Clive has led the Stove Business Unit as Senior Vice President since March 2023. He has both broad business experience across multiple functions in the building products industry and depth in delivering revenue and profit growth through transformational leadership, turnaround management, product innovation, strategic sales and business development ventures. With a natural entrepreneurial drive, Clive also has international experience in private equity and strategic acquisitions as co-founder of Circle Capital based in Johannesburg, South Africa. His prior experiences and success during his time with the Stove Business Unit make him uniquely qualified to lead the Fireplace Business Unit. Clive is committed to building on the solid foundation laid by John and the Fireplace leadership team, while leading the business unit into the future with strategic vision and transformational change.”
Search efforts for a Senior Vice President – Stove Business Unit have commenced. Clive will lead the Stove Business Unit until his backfill is placed, however he will begin working closely with John on transition efforts that will continue through the end of the year.
