Company Statement:
Hearth & Home Technologies® is issuing a product recall on an isolated group of Heat & Glo® and Heatilator® corner unit series gas fireplaces manufactured between March 2008 and November 2014. Although no injuries have been reported, Hearth & Home Technologies is proactively issuing this recall in collaboration with the CPSC to reinforce its firm commitment to consumer safety.
This recall involves select corner unit series gas fireplaces manufactured between March 2008 - November 2014. Approximately 2,500 units may be affected.
Consumers who purchased a Heat & Glo or Heatilator corner unit series gas fireplace during this isolated date range should have already been contacted by their local dealer or distributor. Consumers who have not been contacted but are concerned they have a gas fireplace that falls within the isolated date range should immediately stop using the gas fireplace and contact their local dealer or distributor to arrange for a free inspection and installation of a correction kit, if necessary.
All corner unit series gas fireplaces that fall within the serial number ranges below will require a correction kit. Serial numbers for corner unit series gas fireplaces are printed on the rating plate, located near the controls, and in the owner's manual.

Is my fireplace safe?
Yes - this is an isolated issue and is proactively being remedied by our dealer and distributor network. Once the correction kit has been installed, your fireplace is safe for use as outlined in your owner's manual.
How do I know if my fireplace is part of this recall and needs a correction kit?
If you have a corner unit series gas fireplace that falls within this isolated date range, your local dealer or distributor should have already been in contact. You can also check your unit's serial number against the affected serial numbers above.
If you haven't been contacted but are concerned that your gas fireplace is affected, you should immediately stop using the gas fireplace and contact your local dealer or distributor to arrange for a free inspection and installation of a correction kit, if necessary.
Do I need a new fireplace?
No, a new fireplace is not necessary. If your gas fireplace was not manufactured within the isolated date range, it is safe for continued use as outlined in your owner's manual. If it does fall within the affected date range, your fireplace will be safe for use once an authorized dealer has done an inspection and installed a correction kit.
